Mouse problem in 1995 Chevy Astro Sign In

Hello,
I’m getting mice in the walls of my 1995 Chevy Astro Van. It sounds like they are coming in through the floor, possibly by the bumper. I’m wondering if you have any advice of where exactly to seal to stop them from getting in. I’m wondering if there are a lot of holes going on, or if maybe it’s just one.

Ok, thanks!

The inside of the vehicle is already sealed off from the outside. If they are getting behind the bumper or in the qtr panel cavities, there is much you can do to prevent that. Find the nest and get rid of it.

The inside is not sealed.

*Mosquitoes were getting into the walls and then through the edge of the windows and doors, and through holes where the seat belts attach. There are mice inside the walls themselves. I cannot reach the nest to remove it.

I just need to find out where they’re getting into the walls.

I don't know what wall you are even talking about. The Astro van has nothing but a single skin with reinforcements on the inside. Do you mean behind the trim panels. If they are behind there, they got in when the door was open. Unless somebody drilled holes in the floor, there is no other way in.

You'll have to start removing interior trim to find them.

Not funny but INSTALL CAT!
Seriously is a real problem have whatever critters where I am all the time. If safe put rat poison in closed areas outside and some under the hood many will be attracted to heat at night or when not used and LEAVE if you approach vehicle without notice by you.

Tricks abound on this. Some include turn vehicle around or park differently with another. The silent noise things the jury is still out but it does annoy pets terribly so AYOR that you can't or doesn't work at all.

I use small critter poison AND of all things clothes dryer sheets (brand name Bounce) they don't like the odor?? Don't ask why I have NONE inside collectible vehicles for over 12 years now dang things can fit thru a gap you swipe a charge card!
Moth balls in a aluminum, small pie pan used to really work but "read contents of them now" the real old stuff was Paradychlorobenzene is no longer allowed to use! It's fake crap now the real ones evaporated over time new ones way too slow or don't.

Pets around was #1 and moving position of vehicles if only back in vs front in seemed to work.

AYOR I'd also spray some (if the right place) raw ammonia near any seen nest or chewed up things just PLEASE know you can't use anything with chlorine and that at the same time at all is deadly to YOU.

It's no pun on my Avatar but really a good old barn cat was the total answer for 100s of years but will leave when done and mean things you don't want otherwise!

Good luck and please say what works you'll see no more evidence if something does,

Tom
