I have ceramic headers on a classic car I have rebuilt it looks like I have ran over a plastic bag that has melted to the headers. Any suggestions on how to remove the baked on mess without damaging the headers surface?

Have you contacted the manufacture of your headers to see what they recommend?

best way I know of to remove melted anything from the pipes is by using any conventional Oven cleaner. Heat the pipes up a bit by driving it around for a good 10 to 15 mins. Apply the oven cleaner and wipe off with clean cloth.
