My son and I did a complete brake job on my Yukon XL (150000 miles)...new calipers, rotors, and pads at all four corners. I did this because the pads had worn out and I thought it would be nice to just replace everything because of the mileage on the vehicle. Within about 4000 miles, the rear brakes on both sides started squealing and in another thousand miles they completely wore out and scored the rotors. My fault as I didn't check them after they began making noise, but who thought that brand new everything would go bad so soon! I saw that one caliper had leaked, so I bought two new rotors, new caliper, and new pads. Reinstalled, bled brakes, and everything seemed OK. Now the rear brakes are squealing again! And I'm afraid I'm going down the same road. I have yet to pull everything and see if I'm actually wearing the pads down again. But can anyone think of any reason why this would be happening?

Not sure it matters but 4X4 or not? Did you service or replace the brackets? If not pins aren't free and can hang up. You also have to use proper brake lube on all parts where required sometimes during life of the brakes. If both wore out the same amount helps narrow it down if just one flex hoses also in the cards. Seem this uses parking brake separately inside is a little drum brake not really involving service brake still known that it's good cables free and all. Bleeding these will be its own thing do know you shouldn't be pushing back pistons but shouldn't have needed to if replacing whole caliper. There are cases you wont be able to and send that part out ABS isn't friendly to air in system nor bleed out well or enough. If bypassed AYOR all around. Right now I'll blame early failure on lack of lube and possibly brackets. Sight chance both rear flex hoses have failed and can't return fluid back so stay part dragging up to serious lock up on some. Last thought is if driver is dragging brakes with left foot using left foot at all or brake pedal as a foot rest even lightly. Most truck (cars too) designs rear brakes would apply slightly first leaving fronts free. Test your work right away. If rears heat right up hot quickly before justified you/we need to keep working on why it could, T

One more note: Brake grease only. It can't take other or rubber swells and will bloat rubber, things stick and fail. Pins should slide free as a bird yet be snug by rubber. All that available new or whole brackets if you wish IF FOUND IN TROUBLE. I see the problem in back disc brakes just because fronts wheels throw dirt and junk at them also extra road spray of water. Good luck. Check it for free spinning just rear hoisted, engine off in "N" may not free coast turning wheel but feel free enough, T
