HAD A VIBRATION WHEN BRAKING AT 55 MPH A WEEK AFTER BRAKE PEDEL WENT TO FLOOR BUT STILL STOPPED FINE.I CHECKED FOR LEAKS BUT EVERYTHING WAS DRY AND THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS FULL. I REPLACED PADS AND CALIPERS AND BLED THE SYSTEM. IT DID'T HELP. I REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER AND BLED THE BRAKES UNTILL ALL THE OLD FLUID WAS GONE. DOT3. STILL NO HELP. WHAT AM I MISSING?

Vibration? That quickly came on? What did rotors look like if only one? Not replaced?? Low pedal assorted causes if pedal pumping do that right or stuck with air in this now remember it gets involved with ABS it's probably trapped and isn't going to just bleed out easily. Other is so much tossed at once I worry about defective parts or with no rotors time to wear in isn't helping this scene, T

rotors are in good condition with on signs of being warped old pads were at half life and looked good brake fluid color was dark that's why I bled the brakes till old fluid was gone. vibration just started one day like a caliper was sticking but they seem to be traveling through there guides with no restriction but with the age of the car I changed them anyway. if there could be a air bubble in the caliper am I using the wrong method to bleed the brakes? to clarify when I push the brakes they give resistance and then slowly go down I'm guessing there not completely hitting the floor or the car wouldn't stop. sorry about that. what i realy don't under under stand is how the problem started with no leaks any where and no loss of fluid.

Brake fluid will turn color from heat. A good reason to bleed it all thru systems periodically which nobody does nor do I find that suggested. Back to original complaint: Brake pedal went low all of a sudden vs last use - right? Did anything happen that could have caused this - trauma or a prior panic stop? I'm looking for clues since the physical pads and rotors apparently were not the source problem - fine that while doing this you replaced them I recall without new rotors - another question is next: Why not? COST* no doubt. They wear along with brake pads rarely would meet specs for a second round observed for ages now. It's not the issue this isn't building up "hydraulic" pressure for air or maybe ABS set up or some traction control is the real source. This vehicle should have lit a warning light is totally new enough to set codes to assist in finding the circuit doing this not a specific part just area of what it's noticed. That should be next but one thing now is check that warning bulbs work. Turn ignition to run but not starting it all warning lights should light up as a bulb test. A low pedal (couldn't be to floor and still stop normally??) would set a code or warning light. Short of physical damage known of or not add now defective new parts (too common to me) default now is get a serious code reading if this is safe to drive is your responsibility to decide I doubt you own proper readers for that possibly a dealer a best bet. Clearly by your description it's not normal as I see it nor you so off for some help in person. Good luck - here to help I can't do more than suggest the reasons now beyond web only repair, Tom * That was a mistake on your part not to do those BTW

Arggh! That's classic for the master, new or not. To rule out ABS unit could be hard. IDK, I think I'd make plugs if need be to test out master can hold and lock pressure separate from the other anythings involved. Speak for myself sorry to miss that line pointed out, Tom

Thanks for the help there were no codes on my scanner but it doesn't scan abs systems but the weird thing is I cleared the data anyway and nothing changed but the next morning I have a full pedal vibration is now at 35 mph when I hit the brakes not 55 mph.im guessing I need to get a better scanner. Thanks again for your help.

I know your still working at this from a problem that didn't show itself not all that long ago at all then a parts toss came to be? Would be nice to know what the "source" problem was not found then remains unknown? Take a breath and go back to what you did and observed not that long ago. Rotors looked good with no sign of warpage. How did you check that and conclude not a problem or evidence so quickly may not leave any without really checking runout. Just an idea while this hunt turned to systems that became involved is take off rotors (look at everything all over again) this time what's the parking brake up so unseen without being apart? Does it work now or did it before or you may never use it? It stands a chance to be the cause that started all this then a parts cannon thrown at it. Basics - most for a while now parking brakes are drum brakes (no hydraulics) inside rear rotors when or if used at all are static meaning used when not moving not friction while moving you could do by holding any release button just drag then see how well (don't expect lots of braking force) shows then are a mess and make vibrations and noise) - wouldn't know without lookin at them apart of that test. In turn caused a partial brake job on service parts that was left not even seen or tested or was it? Whole re-inspection could that have been the "source" all the rest came after that. IDK but worth checking and testing those things are like having 6 brake set ups, 2 each for parking brake wheels. Food for thought, Tom
