I have a 1997 gmc c1500 pickup and for the past few months when I am slowing down i feel the truck vibrating. Well the other day my brake light turned on and when I brake I have to press the pedal all the way to the floor and it takes a few seconds to stop after I do that. Could it be bad brakes and rotor?

restrict your driving and have a professional look at your vehicle... often brake evaluations are free or inexpensive...
generally -the red brake light is indication of a brake hydraulic failure, the amber brake light is ABS issues...

Spot on by Kev2, Marcosa. May I suggest you ask for routine brake inspections at service intervals so you are much less likely to be surprised?
You noticed a problem for three months and did nothing? Now with vibration the fix will probably cost a lot more than if dealt with earlier............
