Parked car for 3 years Help Sign In

Hi everyone,

I am have some problems with a truck I have . It’s a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 truck . We haven’t used it from the start of the pandemic. We have only been using one car. Now we want to start drive the truck once more . Only using a car is getting harder everyday .

I went and purchased a new battery ongave it an oil change myself . I also chick all fluids. When I went to check the brake fluid I noticed it was empty. I filed and stepped on the brakes and they go all the way down.

I pumped it a few time and it has no pressure.
I don’t know what is wrong with them. Any help would be awesome.

Thank you 🙏🏼

Expect a massive project now unfortunately. If it was outside, even harder and more things are or will go bad when it does get going.

Brake fluid lost, it leaked IDK a rusted line or a trail down back of master cylinder - fill it and see where it comes out as Dot3 and 4 fluids are water soluble can and will wash away probably need new evidence. Pumping a dry master may have killed it too!

Hoist it up, take wheels off brakes may be so bad if you turn wheels see the rotors where pads sat is all different - that (if so) will not work if as bad as 3 years can do it all has to go for new now.

Tires if on ground probably junk, a flat spot you'll never get out of them.

Save the novel you may not wish to take this on all that done seals for things will begin to fail - any gearcase, water pumps even. Nuff said it's trouble.

Can you get some help to make to call if you want to try at all vs seen problems now and some likely I listed?

Hate to say it but new unsold vehicles are junked over this IF OUTDOORS AND NOT PROPERLY PUT AWAY.

Hope I'm wrong but would consider deciding AFTER a good look to invest again in this or move on for another whole something it's worth a bit for parts. It's an opinion based on this just plain parked, left ignored for years like that if wrong or periodically run would be all different,

Tom
