soft brake pedal 2002 buick

I have a 2002 buick lesabre 3.8, the brakes work fine but the pedal drops too far, I bleed the brakes twice with no improvement, then I looked for bleeders on the ABS. unit and saw none with the limited view you get, does it have any or what else could be the problem? thanks

Are you basing this on the pedal height when you'rer actually driving or are you feeling the pedal at a stop?
GM pedals are naturally spongy feeling but will put you through the windshield long before having to push that hard.

you don't have top push hard to stop, it reacts good, but when you're at a stop you can barely get your other foot under the pedal, that seems kind of low

It's probably completely normal. It's normal for the pedal to feel weird at a stop as long as it feels normal when coming to a stop.

Check the caliper slide pins for seizing.
Do not touch the bleeder screws on the hydraulic modulator.

If the slide pins were frozen bad enough to cause a spongy pedal, the brakes would pull so bad, it would nearly do a U-turn when the brakes were applied hard.

Actually it won't pull most the time if one pin is hung. Lexus will give you a spongy pedal if one hangs, but will stop fine. If you pump the pedal it will get hard, but that initial pump will be spongy.

It's gotta pull with half a pad on one side and a full pad on the other.

thats possible as most people don't pay attention to a detail like making sure the caliper is free to "float", as with many things the pads are "slapped" on. I did pull the pass. front and the pads look good.thanks

Any time space has to be taken up in a hydraulic system,pedal movement will increase.Excessive rotor runout will knock the piston in the caliper back further that it should.The further the piston is back in the bore,the more fluid needs to be dispalced too push the piston out until clamping force can occur.
A low brake pedal can be caused by seized slider pins to. If a floating caliper is unable to move,the lateral runout in the rotor(all rotors have some lateral runout) pushes back the caliper piston. The fluid is returned to the reservoir and the next brake application has to refill the caliper to take up the clearances.

Yes, we are fully aware of those factors however that is not the case here. There was no complaint of brake pulsation, nor did he acknowledge that the pedal gets harder with pumping so the rotors are not a factor here.
