Well, I Just Bought this 1998 Ford Escort ZX2, about 3 days after i got it it started to make this Squeeling Noise by the front tires (not sure what one its coming from, but its fairly loud) this noise Persists while the car is in motion until i begin to break then it compeletly stops, then continues when i accelerate. Can someone please tell me why this is, and how much about to get it fixed.

Guessing of course but this sounds like worn out front brakes. They have wear sensors like a fingernail on a chaulk board to let you know they are ready to be replaced. DanD had a pic of this which I don't but it's a maybe 10mm little scratcher hook that touches the rotor when pads wear down. They will shut up when the brakes are used for some reason. You should only need to pull one wheel to take a look. You can bend it out and it will shut up but if that's it get the stuff and do the brakes, T
