I have a 2004 kia optima with air. The other day I had the power steering belt replaced because it broke while I was driving. Now the car makes a whistling sound when you accelerate. What is causing this whistling? Is it just because of a new belt or what? What can I do to get rid of the whistling?

The guess "du Jour" for this is whatever broke the old belt is still a problem. All pulleys, alignment of the new belt on pulleys and the tension must be right. It will probably require removing the belt to spin the pulleys to see if one is bad and a visual check now should tell if it's on properly and with engine off key out please you can feel if it's tight enough. If a pro shop did the replacement I would hope it's in proper alignment and tension was known good. It may be something else altogether but the belt breaking and instantly a new noise when replaced strongly suggests a pulley and or tensioner problem, T
