I just a bought a 2010 ford f15⁰0 from a dealership recently and there is this ticking from inside the cab and you can hear it when you start it up and when it idles. When you accelerate it gets faster and when you release the pedal it stops. The dealership says it was an exhaust manifold because it has split exhaust. my mechanic said it sounded like it had a timing chain going out but my dad said he didnt know about that because all he did was put his ear up to the truck hood without even opening it.

Either way im expecting the worse but was just wanting advice.

Its a 5.4L V8 Triton if it helps any.

Edit: Forgot to mention the weird part is it has no problem starting up and it runs really smooth idk.

Either one of them could be right.

We can't diagnose a noise like that over the internet. You just have to use your ears and follow the noise to it's source. Then maybe we can be more help.
