2011 Buick lacrosse died running down the road Sign In

Ok so I have big problem going on right now I have a 2011 Buick lacrosse that I kept up on oil changes maintenance etc. so one day this POS decided to not start up just turned over so we had it towed to the auto shop and they said it was the timing chain now 1800 later we got it back and 8 days later it just straight up dies running down the road had it towed back to same shop they told me that the crank shaft locked up and had no idea on how it happened and now I need a new engine used one he said was 6500 new one 8000 what do you guys think about this? I'm thinking they screwed me over

If words express your frustration you just did a 5* job.
IDK - Problem may have been before they did a thing or because they did? It's frozen if/when crank bolts don't turn would take an engine "autopsy" to find out exactly why but either way it's dead - game over.

Time to decide what you want to do never mind this new or used BS neither are so wonderful - new isn't really a new like it had when it was new.

I'd bail out for another vehicle just because it's so invasive to R&R an engine for any reason every last wire fluid or anything has to be messed with makes a new problem awaiting down the road.

Your call. I'd bail out let the wholesale market deal with it and get another if even the same vehicle type I know of nothing chronically wrong with by original designs,

How many miles on this car? I can't imagine it needed a timing chain and I would bet my bottom dollar the current problem was caused by a faulty timing chain job.

If this car actually died on the road due to a broken timing chain, the motor would have been junk right at that time and this is an interference engine.

I agree 100% the car has 177,00 on it and after we got the car back from them we literally drove the about 5 times that's why I'm so pissed about this i mean it wouldn't be so bad maybe if it were months down the road and then something like this happens i might think it's coincidental but 8 days come-on.
Thanks for the feedback
