2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8 195000 miles When idling there is a SLIGHT ticking, but I think it's possible it's always done that because it also vibrates pretty bad when idling in reverse or drive (But not in park or netural). That problem doesn't seem to effect anything. The problem that is more apparent most recently is when starting the car after it hasn't been used for a while it ticks and takes longer to start than normal. The problem that makes me more worried is when I'm hitting around 3000 revs it's a louder ticking that only gets louder the higher it revs. This car isn't very quick and to get to highway speeds anything faster than a minute, it takes pushing the engine to that. This happened shortly after the last oil change, where the filter and oil was changed, changing from mineral or a hybrid to fully synthetic. On the way home today, it was even ticking at lower revolutions. I've checked the oil level and it is still pretty much full.

Oil alone is fine just use correct viscosity and it's not that. Ticking? Heat shields and flex pipe look at them and tap while cold to see if loose. Get codes if you really think low power and all else is fine may be clogging converter or is breading up? If right on engine first think hard about taking that off and looking at it as it's reported to break up right there harming engine. IDK - debris, miles may have back pressure it shouldn't and codes should show that pending, T

Just to clarify the exact sound being made, I recorded a video while driving of what it sounded like (I pushed the accelerator more extreme than usual to show how bad it is the higher it goes). At this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eV6h_31Y0wM

That's pretty good for recording noises which are always tricky. Now would still suggest and soon finding loose parts or with a helper with hood open do a slight (don't go nuts) brake stand* quickly see/hear if an item is obvious. STAND TO SIDE OF CAR IF LOADING ENGINE WITH ROOM TO QUIT IF IT MOVES. If it doubts have this looked at and witnessed by a pro at a shop. To me combo of a valve train noise or something loose can't peg it via the web but it's there and shouldn't be, T * Means car not moving but applying power both forward and reverse - e-brake on hard, block wheels or whatever it takes not to move. Sounded like a standard shift is tricky to do and a clutch burner if so you don't do that very long - just second to hear and observe.........
