It's a 97 Honda Civic LX, and it's a 5-speed. Whenever the car accelerates past 2000 rpm it makes a grinding or rattling noise from what sounds like the engine. It doesn't make this sound at any other time, only when it passes 2000 rpm's in any gear. I took it to a friend to try and run a diag on the car, and it didn't show any problems. I know I have a loose (AC) belt I believe, and my brakes could use a little servicing, but I don't think this has to do with it, as the sound is comming from the engine. Any help would be appreciated.
