I have an 02 windstar van. Drives great up to 60mph and over 60mph. But AT 60mph the front shimmies a little. Under 60, drives smooth. Over 60, drives smooth. I noticed it also pulls slightly to the right. My van has never been wrecked and the tires are perfect. No wear anywhere..is this an alignment issue? 92k miles. V6 engine

That's most likely a wheel balance issue on the vibration but could be a bad tire also. Have it balanced and aligned for starters.

ok..thank you for the reply..the tires were rotated and balanced last week. i did notice yesterday that although the tire tread is great, the rear tire that was rotated from the front has a tread strip that is more shallow than the others. like its slightly worn in that area. so its been balanced, i will have it aligned this week and all 4 goodyear tires checked to make sure none are bad..THANK YOU. im a girl...i dont know alot of these things.

A shallow spot in the thread can belt an internal belt separation so they need to be inspected carefully

ok i will have it checked this week. it IS the only tire with that issue. so since you know alot about cars, how about telling me about my air conditioner...its kind of cold after the van has been running a bit and kind of cold while im driving. but its not really cold while the van is idling or at a prolonged standstill. the van doesnt make noises under the hood and i dont hear anything cutting in and out like my husbands chevy truck did when the air compressor when out on it and had to be replaced. doesthis sound like a freon issue? i dont want it to be the air compressor. his was $550 to replace. again my van is an 02 w/ 92k miles. his truck is an 97 with 165k miles. and thats all the issues i have is the alignment/vibration and the "kinda" cold/ semi-cold air issue.

A/C diagnosis is not a DIY type job. It needs to be looked at professionally and pressure readings taken from high and low sides of the system.
