Noise after moving steering wheel... Sign In

Hi,

When my car is parked, I start it and turn the steering wheel right or left to get of the parking position and start driving - that's the only time I hear a sort of whistling noise.

The noise comes from front of car, can't locate exactly where in the front, but probably somewhere on the sides.

This happens morning or afternoon, so in cold and warm weather too.

I have Suzuki swift, 2015, 30,000km, automatic.

Thanks

Noises are tough in person never mind on the web. Try to get a helper to start it and hear it in person know if you can what item it is, which side and go from there. If recent and MUCH colder now for these starts some may be normal but can't say that yet,

Sounds like it's most likely a belt noise. If the belt has a manual adjuster, it likely needs adjusting.

Hmmm? OP, How cold is it when it does this? I don't speak metric well but it's just 11F where I am right now. Normal and everything using a belt if that cold will let you hear it but only for a minute or so - not just cars/trucks anything with "rubber" belts.
Just maybe if only that just know it. Just a wild assortment of my own assorted things would do something and quit it with the extremes either way more when seasons switch is NOW for me + suspect for you too.

It's true when brand new belts if that and pulleys haven't really worn into each other for some time is when noises show up and be normal but not lasting.

Good of you to be paying attention it beats breaking down over a warning sound!

What's normal, the weather or the noise?
