Shaking Steering Wheel

My Shaking Steering Wheel is shaking when I'm driving. Do you think an aliment is in need here, or would this be coming from something else?

Alignment doesn't cause shaking- period! Right NOW make sure your wheels are tight. Left wheels are more likely. From there a bad tire or rim - perhaps a u-joint or CV joint. If this is new RUN don't walk to find out why.

Just Interesting. I worked part time at tire dealers. I was shocked at how many wheels were on and off and with mega thousands we never had a problem but the possiblility is there. That is to say leave lug nuts loose! ...

While you've got it jacked up checking wheel torque, also rotate the tires (by hand) and check for knots, bulges, shifted belts, bent wheels, etc.

This may be due one or both tyres being not evenly circular,
i.e. they are kind of wobbly, which can happen after some
period of running, especially with poorer quality hard tyres.
This is the case with my left tyre. I had purchased "Imperium" tyres , made in Indonesia, last year - penny wise, pound foolish. Don't ever buy those.
Shaky steering wheels due to wheel balancing problems
usually only come in above 30 mph, or 50 km/h.
It may also be due to a loose inner tie rod, sometimes called
inner socket assembly, in rack and pinion steerings. Over here,
the jargon for them are "drumsticks". Other components of the
steering linkage can also be involved, such as bushings, etc.
Inner tie rods will make some clunking noise though if
they are loose, getting worse over time.

Its funny you mention the 30 mph or more. It seems like the wheel only shakes above 30 to about 55 or 60 mph. I'm going to try and get the tires rebalanced and hopefully this fixes the problem.
