12k miles anywhere between 0 and 35mph I feel and hear a thumping noise when decelarating. I cant feel the thumping through the brakes but rather through the whole car. It does get louder and slower when slowing down. On acceleration can't tell.

Confused which is normal for me! What kind of car is this and did it sit a long time? Brake parts rust but it so would do it while braking, T

2006 mustang gt. Took the car in to the dealer about 2 weeks ago for some cosmetic repair. The noise started about 2 weeks ago (strange). I know they test drove it and did a lengthy multi point inspection and they said all was ok, but noticed the slight thumping shortly after picking the car up. Possibly the mechanic did some shananagans with my car? The problem is I wont take it back the that dealer as they do poor work. Cant tell if its some kind of trans problem (automatic) or driveshaft? I have experience thumping with other cars but I could always tell it was the brakes as the break pedal would palpatate along with the thumping.

well the dealer says I have bumps on my tires due to the lack of tire rotation and need all new tires. They feel good to me. They still have plenty of tread left on them so I guess I will just replace them later.

06 mustang. i havent rotated the tires yet, dealer informed me it should be done every 6k, I thought every 15k.

Hammer - it's a Misbang (Mustang) but so true about tires. Shoot - I'm getting too old - I recall a place that would "true" tires with sawtooth defects! Literally a tire lathe! If a tire has a hernia type lump it's junk and best replaced in pairs IMO. I don't know of many tires that tolerate lack or routine rotation! T

The scalloping is something that happens to the non-drivve axle so it happens to the front on yours. If you move those tires to the rear now, it will begin to wear them correctly but it could take a while.
