108,000 miles. 2004 Toyota Avalon XL V6. This started out of nowhere. Note: you can hear it best on the 2nd/3rd acceleration attempt. This sounds bad to me Any ideas what this could be? thank you. Video: https://files.fm/f/58kvzz9tr

Sorry, that video is worthless to me. Trying to diagnose a noise over the Internet is near impossible, especially when the recording is made from inside the car. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

You can check fluid level if not on the spot find out why. Noises are tough now a 19ish year old car I suggest paying a pro for minimal time and test drive. If a real trans issue or worn that's it's own trade usually (for me) takes up too much time and valuable space + special tools if a rebuild is in order - unknown right now, T

Toyota's are pretty notorious for burning out a small pieces of flex pipe in the exhaust under the engine.

It's probably a side topic but cars don't use up coolant. So why was that low? OR if really cold where you are it just looks lower on a see thru reservoir, all are TMK lots older than this, T (PS!) The quickie oil change places that top off fluids are NOT doing you a favor - WHY IS A FLUID LOW -ANY OF THEM? Not telling you are NOT aware it was a warning of a disaster you could avoid potentially?

?? Lower than full?? It's a fluid depends on temperature as it just expands and contracts like all so there's a range. When off what is expected (anything) the question is why? Find out why if coolant is mixing with ATF for example you are in real trouble. Don't take me wrong I like you just a warning sign happens out there folks ruin cars over not understanding it, Tom On record, Marlborough, MA it gets either hot or cold here too, horrid humidity we send hurricanes off shore (luck) none since 1938 where I am.........

That would sound like the more hopeful better situation, correct? What would you suggest if that be the case. Simply have the car looked at to see if the exhaust is leaking. If the flex pipe is indeed rotted out then an exhaust specialty shop can weld in a new one. Setting it up for next week thanks
