I have a 96 chrysler sebring convert. and when I brake the rear brakes squeal extremely loud. It usually it happens after the cae has sat for awhile. I've looked at the drums and shoes and they appear fine. The noise does go away after several hard stops or pumping the brakes.

This should be taken apart to really inspect what's going on there. It could be a wheel bearing but I can't say for sure. Sometimes excessive brake dust can make quite a noise but you're calling it extremely loud would make me want to take it apart and see what's up, T
