1996 jeep cherokee 63k miles. Sometimes when I go over a bump with wheel turned to the left I either hear a clunk or a small up-down scraping type noise. I visually checked the ball joint and it looks sealed still. Is there a way to know what suspension component is making that noise? (ball joint, bushing, or sway bar link?) Also if it is the ball joint do I have to change both sides or canI do only 1? thanks.

You sure are busy today. Sway bar link pins or perhaps support rubber things do give out. The pins you can see broken. Other front end part even if they looked "sealed" mean nothing. You need to know how to pry, push, pull on every one of them. Check shocks too, especially the rubber bushings, T
