thumping sound Sign In

Kia Spectra
1.8L 4 cyl
88,000 miles
manual trans

There is a thumping sound coming from somewhere in the front half of the car. It increases the faster I go and decreases the slower I go. The thumping sound stops or is not as apparent when I am braking or when I am accellerating. The sound is at its worst when I am coasting in gear or in neutral. The sound does not seem to get worse when turning. CV joint?

Have you tried rotating the tires to see if it changes anything?

Re: thumping sound Sign In

My first thought would be a bad hub bearing.
