Car Stereo Not Working

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus and its stereo is not working right. The left front and rear speakers have no bass. Sound still comes through them, but there is no bass, it is only the high frequencies. It doesn't have that full sound. I switched a speaker from the right side of the car (the side that works) and it did not work on the left. When I put it back on the right it worked fine. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

It will not be a wiring problem as there is only 2 wires for speakers and the same at the outlet of the unit. If they are broken there will be no sound at all. I hate to ask the obvious question, Have you tried adjusting the bass control and switching from left to right with the balance? I have another theory but try that 1st. Turn treble all the way down, bass all the way up and use your fader and balance to isolate 1 speaker at a time. Start with your front speaker that works with bass, then rear, then to the front one that doesnt work. See if you get anything. Also turn volume up a little higher so you can get the full bass explosion. Let me know.
