New Stereo No Sound

I have a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a factory Infinity Gold stereo and factory amp under the rear seat. I recently replaced this deck with a Sony CD player. I bought the aftermarket wiring installation kit and connected it as per the instructions. The stereo powers up fine, but there is no sound from the CD player. The CD spins ok, and there is sound from the radio. What did I do wrong?

Did you wire into the Amplifier? If this is done incorrectly you will have no sound. If it is too complecated, you should bypass the AMP. Buy some speaker wire (called figure 8) and wire your speakers directly to your head unit. Simple. If you wish to use the amp, make sure everything looks ok. If you could send a pic of the wiring to me, i could tell you.

If I am reading your post correclty, you have sound when listening to AM/FM but no sound from the CD player. The harness from your new radio has a BLUE wire for a power antenna and a BLUE/WHITE wire for an amplifier turn on. The BLUE wire only has power when listening to the radio so that the power antenna goes up with the radio and down when the CD is playing. I would bet you hooked up the BLUE wire instead of the BLUE/WHITE for the factory amp turn on.
