Ok so the sound system really sucks in my car. I'm going to be getting a new head unit, & speakers. Does anybody have any recommendations for what brands i should be looking at. I want good quality for a fairly cheap price. I also don't want the car to scream "rob me" Also do you guys think that replacing the head unit & speakers will be enough? should i be adding an amp or somthing? One of my friends recommended buying an amp but i'm not even sure to begin with thoes, i've seen they have 2channel and 4 channel, and not sure how many watts i would really need. thanks, Jim

If your after just a sound upgrade, forget amps. Amps are usually used for pumping and thumping and sub woofers. You can get a decent head unit and decent speakers and it will do you nicely. It all depends on what kind of music you listen to as well. But for all round, i would go a Kenwood, or a JVC headunit. With Kenwood or Pioneer 3 or 4 way speakers. If you want more info msg me personally.
