Hi. I'm not sure of the correct name of the plug/port that is under the driver side dash, I call it th diagnostic connector. I have an 02 silverado 1500. I noticed a couple years ago I tried to use a diagnostic computer on the truck, plugged it in and the computer said to connect, another words, it wasn't reading the onboard comp. Two months ago I got a snapshot device from Progressive to plug into the socket, and once again, it never read it. Lost $50 bucks on that deal. Now I am looking into putting a performance chip in but if my connector isn't working then it's a nogo. My problem is I work out of state for 6 weeks and am only home for about 4 days. I don't want to waste my little time off being stranded while my truck is in the shop. Does anyone have any suggestions on a checklist of things I can check myself when I get home? Fuses, etc? Any help is very welcome and thanks in advance.
