Hi guys. Looking for some advice on troubleshooting an 03 Chevy Impala 3.4L w/ 181k miles. The car runs and drives great but the issue i am having is that when the vehicle is in motion after several minutes the door locks repeatedly try to relock as if one of the doors had been unlocked. Also on occasion after the ignition is cut off and a door is opened the radio fades in and out instead of just turning off. I have checked the charging system and it had no issues. Was told to check a ground under the dash which was not loose. Had a thought yesterday about the switches in the door latches... maybe one starting to fail but if that were the case i would be getting the door ajar indicator on the dash which i am not. I'm at a loss. Any help you guys can provide will be appreciated.

Might start with having the body control module scanned for trouble codes. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

It can't be done with a plain old generic code reader. It requires professional equipment. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Okay i had the car scanned today. Was hoping to get it scanned this past sunday seeing as how it was really acting up including DRL, park, & tail lamps flickering with ignition off, the security, battery, and SES lights on the message display flashing in sequence, & lights and radio not turning off upon opening driver's door. The codes that were found in history were as follows: U1000, B1001, B1004, & B1780. Contemplating of possibly replacing the body control module; i await your input. thanks.

Are you still using the original radio? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Most of those codes are communication codes meaning one of the modules isn't communicating with the others. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions here. It needs to be diagnosed properly to be sure.
