I have a 06 Pontiac G6 that I can't seem to get the emergency flashers to work. I have checked all the fuses they all seem to be fine but I couldn't find any marked for emergency flasher. I am kind of old school don't cars have flashers some where you can replace???? I can't find anything in the owners manual.

The system in your car is considerably more sophisticated then that. The Hazards are controlled by the Body Control Computer and your going to need a factory scan tool to diagnose anything there. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

I definitely have to trade this thing in for an old camero.LOL Do you think the hand held scanners from say Auto Zone would tell me the problem? Also the car was in a front end accident this summer could that have caused the problem?

No, those code readers definitely can't access the BCM. Most professional scanners can't do that. It has to be a GM specialized bidirectional scanner. I have no idea if the accident has anything to do with it. It could.

No, the hand held code readers w/data stream only access the PCM. You are going to need a scanner capable of communicating with the BCM to see if it's recieving the signal from the hazard switch..... As far as the wreck goes....anythings possible but if your turn signals are working I would doubt it..........

Ok I feel kind of stupid but I wanted to share for the sake of others. Took the car to the garage and after a full diagnostics it seem that somehow the switch on the dash came unplugged.

You shouldn’t feel stupid at all; by rights you should feel quite happy. A little diagnostic time and plugging the switch back in, is one heck of a lot cheaper then replacing the switch or a BCM. One other thing to think about; you’ve found yourself an honest, reputable repair facility to take your vehicle to. Dan. Canadian "EH"
