15 Nissan Altima - Not recognizing key Sign In

I recently left the key and fob to this car in my pants pocket and subsequently washed and dried them. Although, they looked fine when I tried to start the car I recieved a message that the key was unrecognized. I tried a spare key that I had and received the same message. I also want to mention that the battery was dead and I was trying to boost the car off at the same time. Thanks for any help or suggestions

You may have ruined the key. I think you are going to need either a locksmith or a shop with key capabilities to test and maybe reprogram that key or program a new one.

The dead battery part may complicate things a little. It's possible the car lost it's key registration memory and both keys will have to be re-registered. Either way you are going to need someone with the right equipment to sort this out.

Dead battery? That can and will cause things in general in a car to lose total memory. If this is not recognizing key may need to read what to do with info on exact car?

IDK for sure if you know it has anything aftermarket that would kill a battery if a failure needs to be check out was it defective or a parasitic draw ALL vehicles have some so do batteries of all sorts if damp/wet with few exceptions only distilled water doesn't have some connectivity still NG for the things,
