That means the rest of the circuit is working properly and the tank sender is likely bad.

he told his suggestion and you rejected it, he is the professional you seek help from. anywho, you have only 8.5 volts at the sender so the wire providing power to your sender is obviously losing voltage along the way, thats where your problem would be if the sender is indeed not faulty.

First off, i never rejected anything, I called the sender maker up one on one and 8.5 volts would be enough to make gauge do something, mine is stuck on 3/4 area. I appreciate anyone,s help but please read what i wrote. Don,t put something else into it. Many Thanks for all who replyed. I appreciate your concern.

I might be getting old but I can still read.

I said you had a bad sending unit and you replied, "I doubt that" ,..........spelled wrong.

Not sure if anyone will see or read this But I want to say That I came across this post while searching for an answer as to why my fuel gauge was stuck at a 1/4 tank when full with a brand new just replaced sender.......comments deleted........ I further researched which is what you do as a good tech! what I found was on the early gto gas gauge mounted on the back where the plug goes on to the cluster there is a wound wire resistor that was broken I only had 6.5 volts at my tank installed another used one and walla back to new !
