1977 Lincoln Mark V won't start. 460 V-8 with 50,000+ miles. I hooked up the battery wrong and now it doesn't have any power. What did I do? How do I fix it?

You most likely have burned out a fusible link. They are attached to the battery side of the starter solenoid. Pull on each one to see if one of them stretches. Be sure to only use fuse wire for replacement. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
