I have a 1993 Honda Civic Lx (279,000) 1.4L car that will not start. Tried a distributor module/body from advanced (210.00) and then took that back and got a second one and installed it. Engine will not start. The second distributor made the car run for about 20 minutes and then it gradually started dying again. I did put a new valve cover gasket thinking that would help - it didnt. What else could be causing this problem? thanks.

That's 279,000 miles!? Open book but still boils down to usually one of two things missing, lack of spark or lack of proper fuel delivery - ON TIME. Even old and worn it should still react or something if it had both and compression. Valve cover gasket wouldn't be the cause of all crank and no start. Narrow down what it lacks for any bucking or pharting and go from there, T
