When I start my car the gauges don't register and I can only get low gear, it will not shift up. When I checked the interior control panel I had power to all fuses except 17. Why? This didn't use to happen "all the time" but my car has been like this the last three days. When it did happen I would let it run a little while and it would snap out of it, but now it is stuck. Can someone please help me? It has a 3.5 liter engine and 94K miles. Jenni Knoke

If I’m reading the wiring diagram properly, fuse 17 (5amp) protects the transmission control module, flex fuel sending module (if equipped), instrument cluster and a portion of the body control module. So I think we’re on the same page; it explains your symptoms anyway? If I read your post properly fuse 17 isn’t blown; it doesn’t have power? If so; that fuse is fed directly from the ignition switch; on a red/white wire, terminal #4, at the ignition switch connector. It ends up at terminal C203 of the under-dash fuse block. I would go to the ignition switch first and see if I had power at this red/white wire terminal #4, with the ignition switch in the run position. If not; connect a 5 amp fused jumper wire to this red/white wire and a power source (battery positive); if things come back to life; replace the ignition switch. I’m making this assumption because you didn’t mention anything about other accessories not working? Let us know what you find? Dan. Canadian "EH"
