Starter was replaced approx 1 yr ago by previous owner. My daughter was using the truck last week when she had it towed home because it wouldn't start. cable to the solenoid had come disconnected due to wrong nut having been installed. easy fix, I thought. when in vehicle starter motor spins but does not extend to engage flywheel, when bench tested (twice) operates fine. ??

That would mean that you probably have it wired wrong. It still could be a bad starter. Bench testing isn't always accurate. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
