We have had the standard issues with our Caravan ignition switch (ie; key comes out while running, goes to ACC without stopping at off, etc) We left it like that for a couple years as we knew to make sure the key was switched off when we got out. Lately when we do this the odometer stays lit and if the van is left for a couple days, the battery goes dead. I assumed it was a symptom of the worn out lock cylinder, so I replaced it. The ignition switch now functions properly but the odo still won't go out a will still drain the battery. What is the CHEAP fix?

Disconnect the battery after you park it.

The real fix isn't known because you need to do some diagnosing to find out what is killing the battery and why.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
