Engine cuts off at operating temp (200'). From a cold start I can drive non-stop for about 20 minutes. Then if I get slow traffic or a red light, and the temp gets up to 200' the engine abruptly cuts off. It restarts immediately. Right now I'm turning off the ignition as I approach slow/stopped traffic, then re-start on the green light. Also, I turn off the ignition on down-slopes and cruise as long as possible. This seems to keep the engine temp down a couple of degrees which is sufficient to go for another 5-10 minutes. I'm into it for over $700 so far - tune up, catalytic converter, air filter, plugs etc. etc. Seems like it's an electrical connection very close to the engine which get a lot of quick, direct heat from the block. Please help before I get rear-ended by an impatient trucker . . .

You should start off with making sure the cooling fans are coming on, sounds like you may be overheating... Also get the codes read to see if there is anything there....
