how many platinum spark plugs are in a 1999 hyundai grandeur model - i have recently been charged 400 dollars for labour to replace 6 platinum plugs and asscociated leads. are there 6 or only 2 spark plugs ?

There are six,three in front and three in the rear of the motor.

No matter if they are platinum or not they all should be the same, I really believe in oem parts myself, the difference in plugs is one can handle heat better than another, and $400.00 is quite an amount, but you have to realize that dealerships charge for just pulling into the bay......If you feel like you might have been overcharged talk to the service manager and ask him why the amount was so high.

!! smalltree - Just curious - do you have the breakdown of that bill? That's a lot of $$ for six plugs. Is labor time and rate indicated? I couldn't find these plugs exactly but for other engines the most they were wholesale was less than $10 bucks each - even if doubled for markup it doesn't jive too well.......
