I have a 2000 Chevy prizm and I replaced the DRL Twice and it's fried both times. Turning my headlights disables my cars engine, and the turning signals makes my car pulsate, the engine. What is causing this? Also, i was driving today and my E break turned itself on for like 6 seconds. And how can I bypass the DRL.? Thanks

I doubt that was really the E-brake but rather regular brakes that stuck or some other flaw in regular brakes. For engine cutting off like that is different. I'd check that grounds for lights are intact as the battery may seek any way to find ground and can't handle any extra items on. In reverse you no doubt begin with brake lights and should have back-up light lit taking juice which shouldn't be that much but apparently too much?? To add on edit - E-brake must be mechanical not hydraulic and must be designed to work without any electrical anything - just a light on dash to tell you it's on which is not needed for them to work so it was something else, T

The break isn't the main problem though. Im pretty sure there's wiring going out, and that I just have to bypass the DRL on the module. I just don't have a cle how to do that.. I cant find wiring schematics and I can't get on all pro lol

Lol I'm from Oregon. My iPad typed break instead of brake idk why. My mechanic washed his hands with it - put too many hours in it and couldn't find the problem! I know it's a short, but I don't know where!

They were stupid, 4 days of work and they couldn't find it for the life of them. Charged me 500$ but I threatened them with the BAR so I am being issued a refund. Starting to lose hope!

Look for what?........ a better tech? You aren't qualified nor equipped to get to the bottom of this issue by yourself. You need someone qualified in electrical diagnostic to troubleshoot the car using a wiring diagram and test equipment. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
