Hello All! I have a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire GT, 2.4, 2 Door. About a month ago it started acting wierd. While driving down the road it acted like the throttle got stuck (kept accelerating, even when I was braking). I revved the gas pedel a couple times and it stopped doing that. Did it one or two other times that week and hasn't happened since. Then, about 3 weeks ago, the engine would cut out when we came to a complete stop. I think it was trying to idle at too low an RPM and it quit. Started right back up and drove without an issue. Happened several times but it was very random. Seemed to me to only happen when the car was well warmed up, but it hasn't happened at all in the last week or two. I brought it to Meineke who looked it over and suggested a tune-up, which I haven't done yet for lack of time. Hoping to get it in next week. Two days after the inspection at Mieneke, I started the car to warm up for my wife to drive to work... she called me on the way to work and complained of something smelling like it was burning (electrical I think :p) then the check engine and trac-off lights came on. The code comes up P0480 - fan 1 control circuit. I replaced the relay, that didn't help. I checked the 30A fuse (which it turns out was blown) and replaced it. Trac-off light goes off (check engine light stays on), the fuse blows 30 seconds later and the trac-off light comes back on. What can i do without spending lots of $$$!? I am trying to sell the car to buy an SUV for my pregnant wife (car seats and two door vehicles don't get along too well :/) but I can't in clear concience sell someone something that may give them huge problems. PLEASE HELP! Sincerely, Tony one other thing i forgot to mention... if i don't turn on my head lights before i put the car in gear, the "light" symbol blinks 4 or 5 times and then stays on... and if I try to turn my brights on, it's like they are burned out (but it's the same bulb as the regular head lights). What to do, what to do!
