2002 Neon no start

Hello. I have a 02 Chrysler Neon. It wasn't used regularly, just a few times a month. As it has previously been broken into, the ignition was damaged and it was only starting via command start. I would start it every morning and let it run for 15-20 minutes as it was cold. Then, one morning it just wouldn't start, no lights, no sound. Couldn't unlock the door either. I assumed the battery was dead. So I put the new one in. Still no luck. I tried almost everything, put new ignition cylinder, replaced safety push button switch, checked the fuses, etc. When I pulled ignition cylinder out, I was able to start it with a screwdriver. Only run for 2 seconds. And did it three times. It is now in some kind of safety mode looks like as there is a red dot lit up on the dashboard. Any ideas here how to start it? Thanks

If it cranks after the ignition lock is removed, then the problem is right in that area. Either the lock is no good or it simply can't rotate far enough to activate the switch. The reason it won't stay running without the lock is the security system. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

You don't bypass it. That's not possible. At this point you have to tow it to the dealer or an Independent that has the right equipment to program your keys. Then you can go back to the original problem you had before creating the new one by changing the ignition switch. You might be able to find a locksmith that will come to your house to program the key.
