2002 Nissan Almera 1.5, 88,000m Hi people Went to start my car today and something weird's happening. When I try to turn the key to start the starter motor, nothing happens, it just seems to be unlocking the car. No engine noises like ticking over or anything. I locked all the doors whilst sat in it and then turned the key, all the locks popped open. Lights are still working, as is the radio and the AC, but there seems to be no transmission to the engine. Any ideas/solutions. Cheers in advance, Danny

First thing I would do is check the battery. Test/charge it and verify the connections are clean and tight. ____________________________________________________ Willing to help, willing to learn... Rob

No noise at all - Hmmm? Do any preset things reset like clock or radio? Do interior lights or try go totally out when you turn key to "start" as a test for a total battery disconnect because of the high load a starter motor requires. Other and more likely is that an anti-theft feature has been triggered or messing up? It is has any need to know if OE to the car or aftermarket. Many will allow legit owner to just unlock doors by key fob to get going if so but could be other something if aftermarket. One more. Have you tried a second known key to this car? T
