2005 GMC Yukon XL V-8 150k miles -Replaced starter in the spring -has been difficult to start...turns over fine but almost without exception you have to release the key and engage a second time before the truck will crank. -battery died last week and was replaced with a brand new diehard. -wife says that now every time she starts the truck the clock on the radio resets Any ideas?

There are a few different options for each of the different Yukon models but pretty much all of them have a direct power feed to the radio/amp. So if the radio is resetting then the main power is being interupted. Depending on which one you have, if nothing is affecting the power wire going to the radio, than more than likely it would be an internal problem. The radio is actually a module so if you had access to scanner capable of communicating with more than just the PCM you may get some help from a code or 2....
