I have a 51 Chevy 3100 that I am having a starting issue with. I replaced both the battery cable and the ground cable. Now when I turn the key I have an accessories light but the fuel pump is not engaging. When I turn to start the lights disappear and obviously the starter does not engage. All connections look clean; any help would be greatly appreciated!!

It has a 350 out of a 69 Chevelle that I rebuilt mated to a 4spd muncie. I think I forgot to mention that I did put a new battery in it as well. The only thing I can think of is at the starter where the cable hooks up? Thanks in advance for the help!
