If the engine isn't cranking over, it's not the fuel pump that you need to worry about. Check all the battery cables, grounds, maxi fuses and fusible links.

Re: 89 subaru gl wagon crash problem Sign In

i have done all this someone told me there is a fuel pump nurser switch that turns off the power to the fuel pump if it is involed in a crash i dont know if this is true but i cant find no switch but i guess i should just wiggle some wires around but to cause the car not to crank at all turn key and nothing what could be the main reason for this the battery is 12.57 volts when checked so the battery seems ok any other suggestions

No, it does not have an Inertia switch. Those are found on Fords only and it certainly wouldn't have anything to do with the engine cranking. Your just going to have to systematically follow a wiring diagram to find out where your losing your power but I'll bet you overlooked a fuse or fusible link.

The stuff your looking for is under the hood. I don't have exact locations. When you check fuses you should be using a testlight to verify if they are even receiving power. Just looking at them isn't good enough.

This isn't a forum for political complaints. The 'government' owes you nothing. Taking responsibility for yourself is the key issue. I don't feel that ANYONE owes me anything. I have, what I have, worked for and earned. No more, no less.
No help from ANYONE or any gov't. agency. I'm more than happy to help someone out, but the "poor me syndrome" just doesn't cut it with me.
As for the Subaru, (which is made in Japan) check the exciter wire going to the starter. It may have been 'knocked off' in the accident.

Look, electrical problems are not solved by mental telepathy. The circuit has to be tested by following a wiring diagram. If you don't possess the ability to do this, don't expect a magic bullet from us. Your going to have to pay someone to do it for you.

I'm sorry but apparently they didn't publish a diagram for the starter circuit. Alldata has nothing on it. Maybe someone else can check Mitchell
