i in need of help with the wiring on 89 z24 i have power at fuse box but nothing down line . at fuel pump there are 4 wires colored as follows purple, grey, black, black striped, could some one tell me which would be power wire . if when ignition is on is the power constant to the pump. my thinking is rather than chase wire problem i,d run a new wire and tie in a plug at tank suggestions?

Go easy here. There could be a relay at fault or a safety switch to shut fuel pump down in a collision. Owner's manual may help for locations. In my old Fords (I'm most familiar with) have a reset for the safety. They can trip from a good pot hole! Trust me you don't want your fuel pump to keep running if a collision and gas leaking all over a hot engine!! I'm not a safety nut but that's a real important feature!! - T
