91 Toyota, Fuel pump keeps dying

Alright, so I have a 91 Toyota Landcruiser. It sat in the woods for 4 years or so, and I've finally gotten it out of there and finished most of the repairs. Trouble is, the fuel pump won't last for more than a couple days. I've gone through 4 pumps now. I take them out of the box and test them, they work fine. I install them and start the vehicle up and it runs perfect. I let it sit over night, and then try it again in the morning. Low and behold, it won't start. So, I take the pump out and hook it to a 12 volt battery, and sometimes I can get them to run again by beating on them, other times they won't run besides an initial try. The pump is getting power, someone else in the house supposedly put fresh gas in, but green corrosion does get on the pump assembly sometimes after being in the tank. Though not so much this past few times. Any ideas?
