Hi, anyone help with suggestions. I will drive my astro and my dome lights and inside side lights that havent worked for years are now starting to flash on and off. Doesnt happen everytime. You hear like a clicking in the area around were the dome over ride is on left side on dash. I have had several mechanics look at it but of course it doesnt do it when they have it. But you owe them for their time. Wouldnt be so bad but at night its very distracting when it does do it. Mechanics say they cant fix unless it does it to them.

Does the chimer go off when this is happening? Could be a door switch activating. Any doors damaged, loose hinges, and/or have play when you push on them? If someone shakes the doors with them closed, does that cause lamp activation? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Agree with DS and think what is happening is this van and assorted versions don't wire to certain type doors rather contacts, a bit spring loaded touch and tell things and lights what to do may remember a lock request if open the doors are essentially disconnected electrically. Wires to those behind the buttons you see. As he said jiggle the doors especially the ones with those type contacts. They are probably worn at hinges not touching buttons properly anymore all confused. If only that the fix is getting those doors adjusted or up to replacing hinges or worn items that hold them in place. I'm sure it's plenty annoying and does this driving along as body moves a bit not so much just parked - YET. If those lights come on just sitting there and may while unattended you'll be surprised with dead battery problems and may not be so clear why. Check as he said and I say too. Fix or disable as needed at this age depending on how handy doors making any light come on is fix or disable so you don't get stranded - takes overnight time when they do that, T
