97 taurus elec. windows

I have a 97 ford taurus with a 3.0 OHV, the drivers power window didn't work so I got access to the elec. motor disconect and found voltage for both up & down, almost bought a new one till I tested it with jumpers at the batt, motor works both ways, pluged it into it's connection out of it's home and it would only do the up, unplugged it and checked disconnect again and had voltage for up and down, repeated previous test and it only did the up, rear pass. would work one time but not the next, now it doesn't work at all, haven't checked it yet, mostly concerned with the drivers window,, it just don't make sense, any ideas? if this is duplicate I apologise

You only checked half the circuit at the motor connector. The motor has to have power and ground. With the switch in the down position check for ground on the white/black wire. You probably have a bad window switch. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
