PUT REBUILT ALTERNATOR IN,STILL NO CHARGE TO BATT..HAVE FRIEND TROUBLE SHOOT ELEC. DAYS LATER,BUT WONT START (NO SPARK).TEST COIL PACK,READS LOW BY SPECS.PUT GOOD USED ONE ON,STARTS FIRST TRY.TURNS OUT BAD REMAN ALT..PUT NEW REBUILT ALT. ON,BATT. CABLES ON(NEG. FIRST).NO START,NO SPARK.TEST COIL PACKBAD AGAIN.WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

What's happening here? First it seems the alternator won't charge the battery when tested then replaced - now it won't run at all? Why are you tesing coils? Note: Battery cable disconnect neg first and back on last! That way tools/other hot wiring doesn't touch ground while working on positive voltage items and short things out. Were there any shorts while swapping alternator? T
