What have you done? Have you tested the charging voltage across the battery? What is it? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

If you got those readings with the engine running, then the alternator is not charging. I can't remember if that year had an external or internal voltage regulator. If it's iinternal, then change the alternator. If it's external, then you will have to full field the regulator and test it again.

Hammer; That would be an internal regulator. Didn't those years have a diode, up under the dash, that would go bad? Maybe, it was a relay....can't remember. O.F. disease. Loren SW Washington

Nothing I'm aware of. The diode is internal to the alternator as far as I know.
