Yikes! Symptoms- Static on A.M. radio, Headlights have "strobe effect",battery reads 11.4 volts. Replaced alternator, checked cable connections,Replaced belt tensioner,Checked all mini fuses. 2000 Ford F250,5.4L Triton,2 wheel drive, no a.c. Owners manual does not specify a fuse for the alternator in terms that I can understand. Was having problem with dome light staying on during damp weather - Ford dealer and two independent shops could not find problem with dome light situation. I Love and Miss my old truck! Can someone help me fix her?

What was going on before the alternator replacement? Truck may think door is open by switch at door jam or in latch on doors. Also the delay for interior light turning off could be faulty. This may be a body control module problem. See what the guys say on that. In the mean time make certain all battery cable connections are clean and snug all the way to the starter and engine block. Don't forget block to body straps. Leave neg at battery disconnected while checking and cleaning all others. First off, last back on, T Ps: They sell "memory savers" that you put in power port/lighter" to save items stored in radio and other throughout while battery is disconnected. A good idea to always use those........
